Hawke’s Bay is considered the country’s leading producer of red wines, while the Central Otago region outside of Queenstown produces arguably the best Pinot Noir in the world. Known as the “Garden City,” Christchurch and the Canterbury region is also filled with excellent wineries.
The adventure begins with 3 days on the North Island in Hawke’s Bay, followed by a full week on the South Island. Highlights include visiting some of the most scenic coastal and inland areas with an emphasis on being outside to enjoy New Zealand’s unique flora, fauna, and incredible vistas.
Start at Farm at Cape Kidnappers in Hawke's Bay, a 5,000 acre sheep and cattle station. Next, travel to Otahuna Lodge, 20 minutes outside of Christchurch, where we will have exclusive use of the property. End at Matakauri Lodge in Queenstown in Deluxe Suites with stunning views of Lake Wakatipu.

As son of the Frontiers founders, Mike was brought up in the outdoor travel business. He has handled a number of sporting programs for Frontiers through the years. Today as President, Mike works closely with the Senior Management Team and the Department Heads and is quite involved with our saltwater programs. He is passionate about the outdoors and conservation. He has been on the Board of Bonefish & Tarpon Trust for many years.
Kristene has been with Frontiers for 10 years and she is one of our Senior Destination Specialists handling our fishing business in the South Pacific, The United Kingdom and Ireland, Spain and Slovenia. She is one of our certified divers on staff and she has enjoyed flats fishing in Mexico, Belize and the Florida Keys.
Mike and Kristene have hosted groups in Montana, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Africa.
