Travel with Barry and Cathy Beck as they make their return to Coyhaique River Lodge in Chilean Patagonia. This is their third trip to the Aysen region which is said to offer some of the most spectacular wild and inspiring experiences available on earth. In the heart of the surrounding Andes Mountain Range lay countless rivers, streams, spring creeks and mountain lakes teeming with bruiser rainbows and aggressive brown trout. Fishing diversity is the mantra at CRL and anglers can easily fish a week and never see the same water twice.
Enjoy 6 days of unparalleled opportunities on water that most trout anglers only dream about. After fishing, enjoy a local Pisco Sour or a glass of fine Chilean wine on the large deck overlooking the Coyhaique River and endless mountains beyond.
Accommodating 10 anglers, the 10,000 square foot lodge boasts 8 ample bedrooms offering 2 queen beds with en-suite bathroom and plenty of space. Floor-to-ceiling glass allows the spectacular Coyhaique River Valley view in the dining and living rooms while the vast wood deck and hot tub beckon.
7-night/6-day fishing packages based on double occupancy and shared guide: $4,250. Based on 2016-17 rates. Inquire about internal air, guide fly program and fishing license fees.
The lodge is located on 40 acres just 5 miles outside the city of Coyhaique on the banks of the Coyhaique River. Coyhaique River Lodge is also designed and equipped for non-angling spouses and partners. There are many ways to experience the local area whether it is by horseback, trekking, mountain bike or kayak. For the less adventurous there is condor watching, Chilean cooking classes, weaving classes, and visits to local estancias and festivals.
Longtime Frontiers trip hosts and photographers, the Becks travel far and wide to follow their love for fly fishing and nature photography. Based in Pennsylvania, Barry and Cathy write books, host fly fishing departures, lead African photo safaris, and operate a stock photography business. The Becks are well-known in the fishing, photography, and travel industries, and possess a stellar reputation for their skill, knowledge, and expertise born out of a 20 year career.
Their most recent books include Cathy Beck’s Fly Fishing Handbook, now in its third edition; Fly Waters Near and Far, a coffee table book of photographs, and a soon-to-be-released book on Alaska.
