Tarquin Millington-Drake was a Director of the safari company Ker & Downey in the UK from 1989-1993 during which he worked with Frontiers on numerous projects through client interest in fishing. He opened the Frontiers’ UK office in 1993 and has overseen its evolution into the sporting institution it is today. In 1999 Tarquin also took over the role of President of the Ponoi River Company overseeing all operations on the river. He continues his work for the new owners of the Ponoi under contract as a Senior Adviser. During 2001, while continuing in his role with Frontiers, he assisted Rory Fleming in the creation of Shackleton International and built up a portfolio of first-class fishing operations in the Bahamas, Alaska, Iceland, the Seychelles, New Zealand and Russia. These have now been sold. Tarquin has travelled to countless Frontiers’ destinations and remains involved with the day-to-day operations and management of Frontiers International as Managing Director.
Felicity Hewetson-Brown (known as Fliss) returned to Frontiers having worked for us while we were based in London. While with us Fliss not only travelled to Russia and the Seychelles but worked at the Ponoi as well. A fisherwoman, a horsewoman and with a full understanding of shooting (with the ability to humiliate the unfortunate gun she is standing next to!) Fliss has now become a genuine country bumpkin, living on a farm in Hampshire. She rejoins us to take charge of looking after our clients from point of confirmation all the way through to return. You will find Fliss to be efficient, helpful and great fun.
Mark Hewetson-Brown joined the Ponoi team in Russia in 2003. He spent three seasons guiding at Ryabaga, during which time he spent his winters working in our US office co-ordinating driven shooting trips in Europe. Since October 2005 he has been a full-time member of the European office, where he looks after shooting in Great Britain and Europe, along with shooting in South America and fishing in Russia and South America. Mark spent the majority of his formative years with either rod or gun in hand, either on the family farm in Hampshire or in south-west Ireland. He is a graduate of Newcastle University.
Lara MacDonald graduated from Edinburgh University and has worked for Frontiers since 1995. She is widely travelled and heads Frontiers International Bespoke Department.in the UK. Over the past 10 years she has developed very strong working relationships with safari companies, ground operators, camp owners and managers throughout Africa and the rest of the world. Her skill lies in customising safaris to suit individual’s specific interests and she takes great care in organising dream itineraries for her clients, their families and their friends – including safari honeymoons. Her enthusiasm for Africa is infectious. She is also our Galapagos Islands specialist having spent a period of her university life living in Ecuador. When Lara is not putting together an itinerary, she is looking after her three young children, playing tennis and gardening.
