Boardwalk Lodge
Alaska’s Boardwalk Lodge is located in the lush rainforest of Prince of Wales Island, just 35 minutes from Ketchikan in south-east Alaska. Twice voted "Alaska Lodge of the Year", this breathtaking oceanfront lodge offers the best of both worlds: exceptional saltwater and fly-fishing. The Orvis-endorsed guides lead daily freshwater excursions with your choice of 23 lakes, rivers and streams nearby. While US Coast Guard certified skippers charter the lodges 28-foot boats for saltwater adventures — targeting halibut, king salmon, silver salmon and several other species depending on the time of year.
However at Boardwalk, it is not just about the fishing. The lodge staff work tirelessly to ensure your Alaska adventure is most memorable. Guests receive first-class accommodation and dine on gourmet cuisine prepared by hand-picked culinary staff. The trophy-class fishing, exhilarating wildlife, and spectacular scenery make Alaska's 5-star adventure the trip of a lifetime.
Boardwalk is a scenic ocean-front property with two guest lodges that comfortably accommodate up to 19 guests. The rooms are large, comfortable and all with ensuite facilities. There is a central dining room and bar area and for those that want to wash away their days excursions a hot tub is fired up each night.

Season to Travel
June - September
Tackle and Kit
We would recommend a 9ft single-handed 8-9 weight rod with varying sink-tip lines for most of the salmon. If you are going for the big Chinook salmon then we suggest also taking a 12-14ft double-handed 9-10 weight rod with a multi-tip line that has fast sink tips or a shooting head system. For the other species use a 9ft single-handed 5-8 weight rod with floating line, 5-30lb leader material, flies, chest waders, waterproof jacket, lifejacket, collapsible wading stick, insect repellent and polarised sunglasses.
Clothing
Alaska has a variable climate and you should dress with comfortable layers that can be shed or put on accordingly. June and July are generally warm, by August and September the weather can be cooler with frosts in the mornings and evenings. Dress code at all the lodges is informal.
