Nestled on 44 tropical acres in the Gulf of the Osa Peninsula near Puerto Jimenez, Crocodile Bay Lodge is located in one of the most ecologically diverse places on earth. It boasts exceptional offshore fishing for sailfish, marlin, tuna, dorado and wahoo. There is also excellent inshore fishing for the huge cubera snapper averaging 15-20 lbs, the sought after roosterfish, as well as bluefin trevally, snook, sierra mackerel, barracuda and other species.

This premier lodge offers first-class all-inclusive accommodation in a lush tropical setting complete with its own orchestra of jungle-life sounds from nearby exotic birds, monkeys and exciting wildlife. There are 40 air-conditioned rooms and suites, each with two queen-sized beds, ensuite bathroom facilities and a private deck, and three new private villas perfect for families or intact groups. In addition, Crocodile Bay Lodge has an excellent daily menu, a swimming pool, hot tub and a full luxury spa, perfect for non-fishing partners or relieving your tired muscles after a day’s fishing. A multitude of non-fishing options are available including eco-tours, sea kayaking, water rappelling, birdwatching, riding, snorkelling, surfing and many more.

On the water the fleet of boats at Crocodile Bay Lodge ranges from the 17-ft Champion flats skiffs to 21-ft center-console Bay Champs and 27-ft Rambos, all the way to 33-ft Strike offshore boats that are tournament-fitted with marlin towers and the finest in state-of-the-art electronic equipment. These boats are crewed by experienced English-speaking captains and mates who are well versed in conventional and fly fishing techniques.

A transfer package fee of $450 per person is not included in the above rate and should be added (if necessary) to the fishing package. It includes inbound night lodging at the Doubletree Hilton Cariari or the Hotel Balmoral in San José (double occupancy), ground transfers between airports and hotel, and scheduled round-trip domestic air transportation between San José and the resort.

Price includes:
Accommodations, meals, and soft drinks at Crocodile Bay Resort; fishing boat with fuel, fishing gear, guide, fishing licenses, and cooler with beer when fishing; happy hour buffet; and Internet access in resort lobby.

Price does not include:
International flights; accommodations, meals, beverages, expenses, and ground transfer fees in San José; scheduled domestic round-trip flights; domestic overweight seat and baggage; miscellaneous personal items; airport departure tax; change fees; gratuities; and alcoholic beverages at resort.

Departure Taxes
Costa Rica Departure and Airport Taxes are $28 per person, payable at the airport in either US dollars or the equivalent in colones prior to check-in with your flight departing San José.

Deposit
A deposit of $1,250 per angler is due within 10 days of reservation. Full payment is due upon receipt of invoice for bookings made within 90 days of departure.

Visa Requirements for UK Citizens
No visa requirement if travelling direct from UK to Costa Rica
If entering or exiting via USA, an ESTA application for 90-day US visa waiver is required prior to travel.

Tackle and Kit
We would recommend a 9ft single-handed 12-15 weight rod for sail fish, a 9ft single-handed 10-11 weight rod for tuna, dorado and roosterfish. All rods should be rigged with a highly corrosion resistant reel with a durable and smooth drag system, which holds a large line and backing capacity. High density shooting heads to match recommended rod weights for the sailfish with lighter weight shooting heads for smaller species, a selection of bluewater flies, poppers and polarised sunglasses.

Clothing
Lightweight long sleeved shirts and trousers, deck shoes, sunscreen and hat. We would also recommend a light waterproof spray jacket.
