Welcome to Stonefly Lodge
Located in the heart of the Motueka River Valley, Stonefly Lodge combines stately beauty, a sustainable and eco-conscious outlook, and some of the finest trout fishing to be found anywhere in New Zealand. This gorgeous, expansive four-bedroom lodge is perched high above the Motueka River, and provides guests access to all that the valley has to offer – world-famous local wineries, nearby Abel Tasman National Park, glorious scenic walking tracks, and of course, world-class brown trout sipping flies right in front of the lodge. We are proud to add Stonefly Lodge and hosts John and Kate Kerr to our already impressive catalogue of outstanding South Island destinations.
The location of Stonefly Lodge provides access to almost innumerable rivers only a short drive away. The lodge also operates its own helipad and offers trips to the Karamea and Crow Rivers, among numerous others in the Motueka Valley and Nelson Lakes area. Fishing from Stonefly Lodge is exclusively on the fly, and the quarry is the elusive and wary New Zealand brown.
Stonefly Lodge has four expansive and well-appointed bedrooms, each providing the majestic view over a scenic bend in the Motueka River. John and Kate take wonderful care of the guests, with attentive service and gourmet cuisine, with many of the vegetables harvested from the property’s incredible gardens.
Welcome to Stonefly Lodge
In addition to the fantastic fishing, guests may also choose to visit scenic Abel Tasman National Park, enjoy the fabulous local wineries, spend time exploring the region by walking track or four-wheel drive vehicle, visit local artists galleries, or even just explore the local culture in on one of the colourful towns nearby.
