We have let this river for a few years now but never actually fished it. It used to be self-catering in a small lodge. It now has Iceland’s finest fishing lodge.

We have now fished the river and stayed at the lodge – we think this is something truly special.

The situation is as follows:

The owners believe that many current tenants will drop away because of the price of the new lodge and the fully catered policy for 2025 onwards. They therefore believe that opportunities to ‘get in’ will come up. We want to be waiting with a list of people wishing to take any spaces that come available.

The price catered in 2024 for the lodge, two rods etc was about €15,000 so €7,500 per rod for three days which is reasonable by Icelandic standards but amazing when you consider the calibre of  lodge, the privacy of the river etc.

I encourage you to have a read of my blog and let me know ASAP if you would like to be considered for space in the 2025 season. Prime time is from about 6th July to 12th August.

We will keep a list on a first come/first served basis. Some guests do 3 days, others do 6.
