The outfitter has four different float trips on a wide variety of rivers across Alaska. These are waters known by anglers worldwide for excellent fishing for rainbow trout and salmon. Each of their packages offers different levels of services with the least expensive being a package utilizing smaller rafts, expedition style two to four-man tents, and fewer camp amenities. Their deluxe trips offer rafts with fore and aft casting frames/lean bars, finer camp amenities, and a gear raft and helper so you have plenty of room to fish. Availability depends on the particular river you choose to float.
Custom trips are based on your target species, available travel time, run timing, and the wilderness experience you envision. Trips are typically a week long, but may be adjusted to fit your needs. Having more than 26 years of remote Alaskan logistics experience makes almost any request manageable.
You won’t sit on a cooler like other float trips. ARA “standard” trips have high backed raft seats, 10'x10' wall tents, cots, dining/cook tent, and more. The "deluxe" trips combine the same features PLUS fore/aft raft seats w/lean bar, hot shower, privy tent, and gear raft and extra guide to assist.
Fly: Combo of 6 and 8 wt. fly rod or a 5 and 7 wt. works all season. Conventional: Lightweight rod/reel combo for smaller fish, and a medium action rod (6-7 foot) for salmon. A lightweight reel to hold 150 yds of 6-8 pound mono. Salmon reels should hold at least 150 yards of 15 to 20-pound mono.
Choose from the best rivers in Alaska like the Goodnews, Alagnak, Kanektok, and Togiak Rivers to name a few. They offer differing levels of accommodation from standard to deluxe trips. If you crave the adventure of a remote float trip camping under the stars each evening after a wonderful day of fishing; this trip is for you. This is the most comfy way to enjoy the best of Alaska fishing along with extra features you won’t find with other operators. Experience the natural beauty of Alaska up close and personal. Excellent equipment, planning experience, and guides make ARA the best in Alaska.
Custom rates average $4,195 to $6,295 depending on duration and logistics. Deluxe trips have a separate gear raft/camp hand, so you arrive at your campsite each night with everything in place. Rafts offer fore/aft casting frame w/lean bars, spacious stand-up tents, cots, dining tent, and shower tent.
