Alaska Trophy Adventures Lodge

Remote 160 private acres within Katmai Natl Park on the fish rich Alagnak River

Alaska Trophy Adventures Lodge is located in the Bristol Bay region of Katmai National Park and sits on 160 private acres of prime river frontage in an iconic section of the Alagnak river known as the Upper Braids. Bush plane access is a 25-minute flight from King Salmon. The complex is made up of high quality wooden cabins and a main lodge where all meals are served. The lodge is located 6 miles downstream from the confluence of the Kukaklek and Nonvianuk rivers where they form the Alagnak. Their fleet of jet boats access all 3 rivers and the many species that populate these rivers.

Fishing

The Alagnak with its pristine headwaters in the surrounding mountains drain into Bristol Bay. It’s also called the Branch River, for its endless braided channels. Trout, char, lake trout, pike, and grayling are resident fish. All five Pacific salmon species run in front of the lodge each year.

Accommodation

The lodge is tastefully laid out on a stunning piece of the Alagnak river. The main lodge has a comfy dining room and makes a great place for socialising. Guests stay in one of eight out-cabins or chalets, which vary in size. Expect comfortable beds and plenty of amenities during your stay.

Gear

Fly: Combo of 6 and 8 wt. flyrod or a 5 and 7 wt. works well all season. Conventional: Lightweight rod/reel combo for smaller fish, and a medium action rod (6-7 ft) for salmon. The lightweight reel should hold 150 yds of 6-8 lb. mono. Salmon reels should hold at least 150 yds of 12- to 15 lb. mono.

Trip Specifics

Fly commercial to Anchorage and overnight or fly onto King Salmon. The lodge meets you in King Salmon to charter direct to the lodge. All guests need to be at the King Salmon airport by 9 am on your entry day. This means that you will need to either arrive on the first flight in the morning from Anchorage, or arrive the night before and stay in King Salmon at a hotel. Lodge flights start in the morning around 10 am from King Salmon. On your final day, Frontiers recommends a late afternoon flight out of King Salmon to Anchorage in order not to miss your connecting flights.

Rates

$6,250 pp. Includes all meals, six days of lodge based fishing and/or wildlife viewing. Heated river-front double cabins with shared bath and showers. En-suite bath shower cabins for an extra fee if available. Sun-Sun schedule. Excluded Nat’l Park tax, local bed tax, and charter fee total $550 pp.
