Quick access to the mighty Collón Curá River from Bariloche or San Martin

Bordering the east side of the Collón Curá River and both sides of Patagonia Highway 234, Collón Curá Lodge benefits from multiple private access launch points on this sought-after high desert freestone. You will travel from launch to launch in modern drift boats stopping to fish riffles, back channels, and braids along the way daily. The Collón Curá is reminiscent of the Snake River in Wyoming or the lower Henry’s Fork in Idaho, with excellent seasonal hatches, explosive hopper fishing, and big browns just waiting to slam a streamer.

Fishing

The Collón Curá is a classic freestone river in a low desert climate. Meandering braided channels, long washboard riffles, and deep drop-off pools bordered by willows and high-cut cliff banks offer you big resident browns and spunky rainbows. You’ll drift from point to point and wade periodically.

Accommodation

Location, location, location. Situated just off Highway 234 in Northern Patagonia, Collón Curá Lodge accommodates eight guests in two quaint duplex bungalows. The Lodge offers quick highway access from Bariloche or San Martin making it an ideal multi-lodge combination destination.

Gear

Fast-action 5 or 6 wt. rods/line able to punch casts in a breeze and delicately present a dry fly. For streamer fishing, use 6 or 7 wt. rods with intermediate or sinking lines. We provide a full gear list upon booking. Contact Frontiers for first-hand tackle and fly recommendations.

Trip Specifics

•Southern Hemisphere trout season (lower semi-arid climate) runs November 1-May annually.
•Lodge accommodates eight guests. There are no non-fishing activities available.
•Patagonia Outfitters provides gear, waders, and boots free of charge.
•Quick highway access from Bariloche and San Martin Airports make the lodge perfect for shorter drift fishing stays or a multi-lodge combination trip.
•Approximately two hours from Bariloche Airport and one hour from San Martin Airport.
•An Alumine River Lodge to Collón Curá Lodge fishing drift is a great way to travel on moving day.

Rates
