Eastern Cape Bowhunting - Big Game

Premier Destination for the World’s Most Discerning Bowhunters.

Available only in July and August to ensure the quality and quantity of game, the 15,000-acre preserve offers unrivaled opportunities to hunt the region’s most prized game. Welcoming intact parties exclusively, Eastern Cape Bowhunting caters to each guest’s individual needs, desires and hunting ambitions. Strong populations of sable and cape buffalo thrive here with unique plains game including the Eastern Cape Kudu, White Blesbuck, Springbuck in copper, white and black and opportunities to hunt over 30 additional game species!

Shooting

The preserve surrounding the lodge features gorgeous expanses of wide-open terrain and lush riverbanks. Each day, a professional hunter will be dedicated to your absolute success. Archers will have the choice of shooting either a buffalo or sable in addition to any plains game they wish to pursue.

Accommodation

Each stay allows privileged access to the owner’s private estate, spa, equestrian program and full-time staff — including director of hospitality, executive chef, full-time sommelier, massage therapist, personal trainer and professional hunters.

Gear

Drab clothing or light colored camo patterns that blend with open environment, but pack fleece too. There is laundry service available. Bows or crossbows that draw from 65-75 lb. minimums on up. Fixed blade 125 grain broadheads. Heavy arrows for game with thick hair and hides.

Trip Specifics

We will be happy to help you charter directly from Johannesburg or Capetown to Sable Lodge's private landing strip. Alternately, your group may fly into Port Elizabeth where you’ll be met by a lodge representative and driven to Eastern Cape Bowhunting’s Sable Lodge — a three plus hour drive through South Africa’s stunning Karoo region. All guests have access to amenities and services such as personal chef, personal trainer, equine program, daily spa treatments, etc.

Rates

$4,000 per night rate for exclusive use of the estate. Seven-night minimum stay. We recommend groups of up to three bowhunters accompanied by their non-hunting companions. Trophy fees must include a sable or buffalo for each hunter. Additional animals are ala carte. Additional costs upon request.
