El Monte dove and pigeon lodge, owned and operated by Juan and Maria Alberdi, blends exceptional shooting for dove and pigeon in a relaxed atmosphere in the San Luis province of Argentina. You can shoot decoyed pigeon, perdiz over pointers, and doves on varying terrain. Accommodation is provided in a newly renovated estancia where the hosts and staff are very amicable and welcoming. Maria’s touch and excursions for the ladies makes this the perfect place for couples to experience shooting in Argentina. This is a client favourite and Juan and Maria are the consummate hosts.

Shooting

El Monte offers guests the opportunity to enjoy excellent shooting for doves and high volume pigeons. The agricultural areas of San Luis provide the perfect conditions for your Argentine shooting experience. From May 1-July31 there is also a chance for guests to enjoy a shooting perdiz.

Accommodation

Built by British railroad engineers as a summer house, El Monte is now beautifully refurbished with views of old-growth gardens and stately trees. The lodge offers six bedrooms with en suite bathroom, a cocktail lounge with a fireplace, and a dining room. El Monte is a comfortable, welcoming Lodge.

Gear

Semi-auto and o/u rental guns from 28 ga. to 12 ga. are available. Baretta/Benelli are the common brands carried. Shells are provided and include both Argentine and imported shells that are species-appropriate. We suggest bringing a recoil reduction device to ease the impact of volume shooting.

A valid passport is required.
Getting there: Cordoba is accessed from Buenos Aires which has daily flights from Europe. From Cordoba, it is a 3-hour drive to the lodge alternatively a private charter flight can easily be arranged from Cordoba to the local airstrip to avoid the long drive.
Walk or ride at Cerro Champaqui, visit local artists; golf at Yacanto Golf Club; day tour in Merlo; learn local recipes; massage; tour a prime olive oil plantation and factory.

Non-hunters: $620 per day
