Anyone visiting the Estancia de los Rios will know what it means to be in Patagonia. Wild and still-undiscovered areas in this 360,000-acre private ranch offer literally miles of gin-clear water filled with feisty brown trout. It is the perfect destination for those who like to wade, work each riffle and run, and cast to trout in picturesque, undisturbed beauty. Up to 12 guests per week enjoy exploring the Rio Cisnes, its tributaries, spring creeks, and several mountain lakes, and will leave taking an image of Patagonia with them forever.
Although the idyllic Rio Cisnes is the centerpiece of the fishing program, you owe it to yourself to wade its tributaries and the Magdalena Spring Creek to experience the incredible fishing diversity found here. Try going gaucho—ride a horse to the river or to one of the lakes. It’s unforgettable!
The six-bedroom timber lodge invites you to relax after a full day on the river. Each bedroom hosts a queen or two twin beds, private bathroom, and Patagonia views. Your host and attentive staff work hard to make your visit a memorable one, and it will be.
Four and 5 wt. fly rods accompanied by a 6 wt. are preferred when fishing at the ranch. Weight forward floating lines and corresponding sinking lines for the heavier rod are ideal. In summer, wet wading is possible. Contact us for first-hand tackle and fly recommendations and a full gear list.
Ten-day total trip is typical (Thursday-Sunday) from USA to Santiago and back home.
The lodge fishing program runs Saturday-Saturday, but shorter stays are possible.
Hotel overnight in Coyhaique prior to fishing is preferred.
Consider extending your trip by visiting Chile’s wine country, the Torres del Paine or Atacama area, or wingshooting in Cordoba, Argentina.
2024/2025 Rates: A 7-night/6-day program is $6,850 per person shared room/guide. The single room supplement is $1,150 per week per angler (single room/shared guide).
Non-fishing weekly rate is the same as the fishing rate.
