The Golden Dorado River Cruiser is the only mothership fishing program in Argentina. Enjoy first-class lodging in their fully re-fitted live aboard while accessing the most exclusive fishing away from other boats and anglers. This incredible trip features all the elements for chasing hard fighting golden dorado, as well as other fantastic game fish in the upper delta of the Paraná River. This river is the second largest in South America with a total length of over 1,500 miles. With hundreds of tributaries, deltas, marshlands, lagoons, and side channels, fishing opportunities are endless.
Target species are golden dorado along with pacu, pira pita, tararira, and other species. Fish from newly designed fly fishing boats with two casting platforms (front and back). There is ample casting room for two anglers. Boats have guide-operated trolling motors for stealth approaches.
Lodging is a mothership which features four double bedrooms with en suite bath and A/C. The package includes a flat screen TV, phone, and internet. Their exclusive chef matches meals with fine Argentine wines. The ship typically moves to a new location while you fish each day.
Powerful rods for turning big flies and handling hard fighting fish. 9/10 ft. rods and 8/9 weight warm water lines. For smaller species, we suggest 8/9 ft. rods for 6/7 weight warm lines. Large arbor reels, with 50/75 yards of backing and a smooth drag system and 30/40-pound test wire shock leaders.
Guests fly commercially to Buenos Aires or Rosario, AR. From Buenos Aires, the Marina is only 2.5 hours away or 45 min. from Rosario. Take a water taxi to the ship from there. The Paraná River starts in southern Brazil and, on its way south, it enters Argentina. It receives water from several rivers and tributaries and forms one of the largest deltas in the world. The River Cruiser is a mothership, capable of moving along the river to whatever stretch or tributary is currently fishing best along with eight anglers, a chef and full kitchen staff, four guides, and four fly-fishing skiffs.
Prices are per person based on double occupancy. We can arrange trips of any length. Call Frontiers for customized itineraries. Prices include transfers to/from Buenos Aires.
