Fishing

Andros is known for bonefishing and fish near Kamalame average a solid 3-4 pounds. Larger fish are abundant too. Fish the nearby flats on your own or with a staff guide. Trips to one of Andros’ best fisheries, the Joulter Cays, can be arranged as can an amazing float plane excursion to remote flats.

Accommodation

Kamalame Cay’s barefoot chic Atlantic retreat features 19 luxurious seaside accommodations tucked in bougainvillea-draped cottages, bungalows, and peak-roofed Balinese beach houses. This 96 acre private island features rooms, suites, cottages and 1-4 bedroom villas to suit most any size party.

Gear

As a general rule, 8 wt. outfits rigged with a floating saltwater line will be all you need. A complete list of gear will be sent upon trip confirmation. Frontiers can provide expert advice on finding the right gear for your trip. Rental gear is available at the lodge for an additional fee.

Trip Specifics

Fly commercially to Nassau via several US gateways. Commercial charter service flights from Nassau to Andros Town are flown twice daily. Convenient private air and float plane charters from Florida or Nassau are also available. Flights must arrive into Andros Town during daylight hours. The lodge is just a 30 minute drive from Andros Town. Flying via private charter out of Ft. Lauderdale can often provide you with additional fishing and relaxation time. You must possess a passport valid for 6 months after the last day of your trip. No visa is required for US citizens.

Kamalame has many different types of accommodations and seldom are 2 packages alike. Customize a perfect fishing or non-fishing vacation to meet your desires. A minimum stay of three nights is suggested. Please inquire about options and current rates.
