Meijkrumej! (Hello in Kayapo.)
We are very proud to have completed another year at Kendjam! It was our fifth season with our Kayapo native partners and we have plenty of highlights to share. The 2019 season brought enhanced accommodations to Kendjam Lodge which included new, comfortable, spacious wood cabins. Additionally, our solar electricity system was improved, which allowed silent nights with electricity.
Our remote camp was a great success. This gave us access to new and unexplored waters and we discovered amazing new fishing. In addition to being able to wade and sight-fish for a variety of species, what makes Kendjam so special is the chance of fishing virgin waters, never even fished by our guides! This is one of the reasons fishing this protected area of the Amazon is so special.
This season we experienced some glorious fishing in new areas. We found giant wolf fish in pocket water in small creeks and we discovered a new dry fly heaven for pacu, bicuda, matrincha and peacock bass. Looking ahead, we expect the 2020 season to be even better, as we will be adding new ecotourism packages for non-anglers, and a new outpost camp upstream from Kendjam village. New adventures to come! See you at Kendjam in 2020!
