Since 1950, the "Angler's Paradise" lodges have offered the world's finest Alaska fishing. As founders of the first sportfishing lodges in Bristol Bay, Alaskan aviation pioneers, Ray Petersen and John Walatka, took their pick of the hot spots. Operated today by Ray's son, Sonny, the "Angler's Paradise" lodges are a pinnacle of excellence. Centrally located in the premier trout and salmon fishing area of Alaska, Kulik Lodge guests have quick access to hundreds of miles of lakes and streams. Optional fly-out fishing may be arranged to some of the finest trout and salmon waters in the area.
The local Kulik River is one of the supreme rainbow trout streams in Alaska; one could fish this short river each day with great success. However, adding fly-outs allow guests to fish other hot water in a 100-mile radius of the lodge to experience the variety of species and regional wildlife.
Kulik's standard cabins comfortably accommodate two people. They’ve added limited two-bedroom cabins for larger groups. Relax in the native spruce lodge, which boasts a large stone fireplace, dining area, and bar that serves complimentary cocktails nightly. Includes Wi-Fi.
Six and 8 wt. or 5 and 7 wt. rods and cold water lines are recommended. Conventionally lightweight rod/reel for smaller fish and a 6-7 ft. medium-action rod for salmon. Lightweight reel should hold 150 yards of 6-8 lb. mono. Salmon reels should hold at least 150 yards of 12-15 lb. mono.
The breathtaking scenery of Southwest Alaska and the Aleutian Range includes numerous active volcanoes, glaciers and the multicolor tundra. Adding optional fly-outs to your trip will allow you to fish water in a 100-mile radius. Fish for rainbow trout, grayling, lake trout, pike and all salmon species. Kulik has boats stationed at various rivers and streams; you may take a one-day float trip or hike in from the landing area to a hidden stream.
$6,495-$9,995 per person (plus tax) from Anchorage. 7/4/3-night stays available. Includes: Internal air (Anchorage-Kulik), double cabins, lodge/guide services, rods/waders, open bar. Excludes: Air to Anchorage, overnight hotel, optional fly-out fishing, gratuities, fishing license.
