Situated within striking distance of Buenos Aires, Los Crestones Lodge offers decoyed ducks over well-trained retrievers in the morning and perdiz over pointers complemented by medium-volume dove shooting in the afternoon—all under the tutelage of professional hunting guides.
In true David Denies style, a maximum of 10 hunters are accommodated in well-appointed estancias in single bedrooms with en suite bathroom. Gourmet dining features Argentina's acclaimed beef, fine wines, traditional Asados, and a smiling, seasoned house staff; all come standard at Los Crestones.
Morning hunts offer ample species of puddle duck decoyed over dry blinds and eager retrievers. Following a traditional lunch at the estancia, afternoons are spent walking the rolling pampas, shooting hard-flushing perdiz over German shorthairs, and shooting passing doves and pigeons seasonally.
Los Crestones, a historic 5-star estancia, is situated on 60 hectares of preserved natural woodlands along the Salado River. The estancia features wine galleries with superlative views, a gourmet restaurant, a spa, and a pool. There are eight elegantly appointed bedrooms—each with private bathroom.
Semi-auto and o/u rental guns from 12–28 ga. are available at $125 per day. Beretta/Benelli/Browning are commonly carried brands. Shells are species-appropriate. Shooting clothes should be neutral; camouflage is optional. Waders and field boots are available at the Lodge.
Uniquely, Los Crestones uses retrievers in the blinds rather than bird boys, the common Argentine tradition. Breathable chest waders/boots are on-site for convenience and to reduce luggage. Please give your wader and boot size to Frontiers prior to departure. Waders are limited in Argentina, so if you need an "odd" size, you may need to bring your own. While doves and pigeons are available and welcomed, guests average 8-10 boxes/shoot. Los Crestones is perfect for non-shooters with ample activities on the grounds; it’s easy to combine with a few days in Buenos Aires due to its location.
Nightly rate is $1,850 per shooter. Non-hunters are $650 per day. Shells $24.50 per box for ducks/perdiz & $22.50 per box for dove (subject to change), gun rental is $125 per person/day. Transfers to/from Buenos Aires for two passengers are $225 per person/per way).
