Ngombe Zambezi River Lodge

An adventurous tiger fishing escape on the banks of the Zambezi River

Ngombe Lodge is situated in the heart of wild and beautiful Barotseland, the home of the Lozi people, where the Litunga (king) and indunas (tribal chiefs) still reign. Here, the Zambezi River is untouched by civilisation and the adventurous fisherman looking for a big tigerfish is still a rare sight. The Kaale rapids, a short distance up the river, provides a fantastic venue for the keen fly-fisher, where he can fish for yellowfish or tigerfish. Sioma (Ngonye) Falls is nearby as is Liuwa Plains National Park which sees Africa's second largest annual antelope migration.

Fishing

Predominantly a tiger fishing destination, anglers can also target the upper Zambezi yellowfish and nembwe bream, an ultra hard fighting fish. The lodge has extremely experienced fly-fishing guides who know where to find the fish and have exceptional boat skills.

Accommodation

The thatch-roofed lodge offers a unique blend of organic African textures and colonial comfort. Some guests refer to the lodge as a very comfortable camping experience, where the open planned living spaces embrace a unique outdoor lifestyle. There are four twin bedded chalets.
