As the only full-service fishing lodge in the fabled Blackfoot Valley, PRO Outfitters’ North Fork Crossing Lodge offers a unique mingling of Montana habitat and expected angler comfort and amenities. Custom designed – and accessorized – private guest wall tents featuring feather beds, hardwood floors, full heat and electricity, and a private bathhouse offer a veranda view of the property and Blackfoot River rambling past. Trout rich, this corner of Montana is fish and hatch heavy and angler light with an abundance of browns, rainbows, and an ever-growing West Slope Cutthroat population.
NFCL offers guided walk/wade and drift fishing on both private and public waters. Anglers chase browns, rainbows, and native cutthroat under varying hatches on the Blackfoot, Missouri, Clark Fork, as well as other “off the grid” fisheries in addition to exclusive Smith River departures seasonally.
NFCL’s unique glamping sleeping wall-tent keep guests one with nature and the rambling river and offer all the anticipated creature comforts and amenities. Gatherings and meals at the main lodge overlook five artesian-fed trout ponds highlighted by hearty Montana chef-prepared cuisine at its finest.
Medium to fast action fly rods in 4-6 wt. and weight-forward floating lines are ideal. A sink-tip line is productive for streamer fishing on bigger waters. A complete gear list will be provided with confirmation packages. Contact Frontiers for first-hand tackle and fly recommendations.
The lodge can provide all angling gear as needed. Smith River Floats offer a remote point-to-point river side fully hosted and catered comfort camping experience. On the river, guides will provide flies or bring your own. Montana fishing licenses should be purchased in advance for both venues. The closest airports are Helena and Missoula, Montana. North Fork Crossing Lodge (NFCL) can be paired with other local lodges or not fishing travel locations. Smith River Departures are in May and June and fill fast at eight anglers. NFCL averages 8 to 12 guests and fills at 16 guests.
