Situated in the heart of Northern Patagonia fly-fishing countryside – where it all began – Patagonia River Ranch’s indigenous rock and timber lodge and surrounding gardens offer a warm ambiance within soothing earshot of the tumbling riffles of the Chimehuin River where brown and rainbow trout feed contently on inchworms, hoppers, and mayflies readily. As anglers explore the regional waters non-anglers hike, mountain bike, horseback ride kayak on local lakes or take local cooking classes with master chefs among a plethora of other inclusive activities.
The central property location allows anglers to fish 6 or more regional rivers during their stay including the Chimehuin, Caleufu, Collon Cura, Alumine, Malleo, Quemquemtreu, and the Quilquihue with tenured bi-lingual Argentine guides in quality vehicles/boats and equipment included.
Hosting just 18 guests weekly in 7 airy, well-appointed guest suites in the main lodge and 2 adjoining cottages, each with views of the lush river valley. Two chefs, an accredited sommelier, and a brimming regional wine cellar accompany a skilled staff attending to each guest with personalized attention.
Located on the Chimehuin and targeting multiple regional waters the fishing and water are ideal for a fast action 5/6 weight rods able to punch wind/distance and present hoppers to inchworms. Weight-forward floating lines and longer leaders produce. A gear list is provided with confirmation package.
The ranch opens from mid-November to mid-April seasonally. The lodge requests Saturday to Saturday stays. Not included in the rate are international and domestic flights, hotels, transfers in Buenos Aires, and gratuities for fishing guides and ranch staff. The ranch offers a vast array of non-fishing activities making it the perfect destination for mixed-interest families, couples, and avid anglers. 45 minutes from the regional San Martin Airport and ranch Staff provide regional Patagonia transfers. Frontiers can book international and internal flights in-house.
2024/2025 Season Rate: 7-night/6-day fishing package - $8,450 per person double occupancy. Rates are all-inclusive at the ranch: guided fishing, all non-fishing activities, food, alcohol, laundry service, use of fishing equipment (rods, reels, waders, boots, and flies), and fishing license.
