Located in Buenos Aires and La Pampa provinces, this two-estancia combination offers close proximity to an abundant population of duck, pigeon, both spotted and larger elegant crested tinamou (giant perdiz) and dove. This is truly a mixed-bag wingshooting program offering great gunning for all of Argentina’s sportiest species.

Shooting

Duck hunting takes place over ponds and irrigation canals, which provide for incredible decoying. Perdiz are hunted over dogs in the Pampa’s brushlands. Pigeon are decoyed and will drop in from all directions. Doves are shot at one of Argentina’s largest roost next to estancia Los Pampas.

Accommodation

La Escondida is a comfortable estancia centered in one of the best waterfowl areas in the Buenos Aires Province, Los Pampas, formerly a famed big game estancia located on the best pigeon and giant perdiz habitat in Argentina. Both estancias offer 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.

Gear

Semi-auto and o/u rental guns from 28-12 Ga. will be available at $60 per day. Beretta/Benelli is the commonly carried brand. Shells are species appropriate. Shooting clothes should be neutral colors; camouflage is optional. Guests generally bring their own waders and recoil reduction device.

Trip Specifics

Buenos Aires is easily reached via direct flights from the United States on American, United, Delta, LAN and Aerolineas Airlines. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the lodge’s English speaking guide at the airport. You’ll have a 4-hour drive to the estancia, followed by an afternoon duck hunt. Day 2 is full day of ducks. Day 3 is AM ducks and you’ll transfer to Los Pampas lodge today, hunting as you move. The trip includes 2 full days at ducks and 3 full days at upland hunting. Private charter back to Buenos Aires after your last morning hunt and your guide will deliver you to the airport.

Rates

Season: May-August.
6 day/5 nights: $6,235 per person-inclusive of charter from Santa Rosa to Buenos Aires.
2 full days ducks, 3 full days upland game.
*Shells: $19 per box for 12 gauge and $20 per box for other gauges. *Subject to change.
Gun Rental: $70 per person/per day.
