Rumbo Patagon

Fishing off the Beaten Path but in the Middle of Spectacular Scenery

Just outside Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile are miles of nearly untouched waters filled with trout. Few outsiders know about this resource and even fewer have fished here. Coyhaique River Lodge owners Gaston and Claudio Urrejola have created the perfect destination for people who want to fish off the beaten path but yet remain comfortable in a nice lodge setting. Having the national park close by this is the perfect destination for active non-fishing companions.

Fishing

The program offers access to countless small rivers, streams, spring creeks and ultra-fertile lakes and lagoons on twelve private estancias opened only for you. Four anglers per week will fish miles of water in search of unsophisticated brown trout.

Accommodation

Guests will stay in a comfortable estancia-style home in the village of Puerto Bories, Chile, that has been fully renovated and has great views of the Balmaceda peak and the Serrano Glacier outside your window. It has four bedrooms all with attached bathrooms accommodating four guests per week.

Gear

Fast action fly rods in 6/7 wt. and weight forward floating lines will handle most situations. A sink-tip line is suggested for streamer fishing in the bigger waters. A complete gear list will be provided with confirmation packages. Contact Frontiers for first-hand tackle and fly recommendations.
