Estancia San Huberto is one of the Becks longest standing departures and feels like our home away from home. The late Ernest Schweibert once described the Malleo as the Queen of all Spring Creeks. Managed in European style, its many beats offer a variety of fishing opportunities. There is the weed choked channels of the Henry’s Fork, the riffles and runs of the Canyon, the cut bank at Andino’s, and the list goes on and on. It can be hatch-matching at its best, or simply casting attractor flies to likely looking places, the choice is yours.
Five full days of fishing on the Malleo. Patagonia’s most famous trout river offers great dry-fly fishing. Its hatches are numerous, providing the opportunity to cast over feeding fish. The Rio Malleo is a medium sized river – averaging 40-100’ width – that fishes very much like a spring creek.
San Huberto hosts 16 guests - just 12 anglers - in four single and six double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The central bar is ideal for sharing fish stories and a bottle of Argentine Malbec.
Fishing Package: $5,980 per person, based on shared room/guide. Contact Frontiers for additional details.
Anglers fly commercial service from Buenos Aires to San Martin (Chapelco) or Bariloche. Drive times are approximately 45 minutes from San Martin and 2.5 hours from Bariloche.
