Seychelles and Alphonse open and ready...important information...

It is time to get out and go to the Seychelles!

The Seychelles is now on the FCO Safe List. From 18th October Alphonse Island will have a flight to Alphonse on a Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. This means that guests can fly into Mahe on the British Airways schedule arriving on a Thursday or Sunday, and then jump onto a plane to Alphonse and fly directly to the island, do a tackle set up and fish the very next day. It has never been this easy! Guests then have the option of the following packages:

Arrive Sunday and leave the island on a Saturday to overnight in an approved hotel before flying back to the UK at 0945 on Sunday morning – 5 days' fishing.

Arrive Thursday, fish from Friday to the following Friday, Fly off Alphonse on the Saturday, overnight in an approved hotel before flying back to the UK at 0945 on Sunday Morning morning – 8 days fishing.

Alphonse Island has been exempt from doing the 5 day PCR test if the above is followed.

If guests fly on Qatar / Etihad / Emirates – they will need to self-isolate for 14 days when arriving back in the UK as well as produce a PCR test to fly through the UAE (Qatar doesn’t require this).

For Cosmoledo Atoll, the schedule will be:

Arrive Thursday morning on British Airways, jump onto a plane to Cosmoledo immediately and fly directly to Astove for the crossing to Cosmoledo. The following Thursday, fly to Alphonse, stay at Alphonse until Saturday when guests fly back to Mahe to overnight in an approved hotel before flying back to the UK at 0945 on the Sunday morning.

There is space for Fishing Packages starting on Sunday the 18th October 2020, until Saturday the 7th November and thereafter space is extremely limited for 3 consecutive weeks. Please enquire about further space as the booking chart is changing constantly.

To recap...

The schedules flights link with the BA flights on Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays. Flight times are as follows:

Depart London/Mahe 1735/0745 + 1 arriving Thursday (having left Wednesday) and Sundays (having left Saturday)

Depart Mahe/London 0945/1625 arriving Thursday and Sundays.

Guests flying from the UK will be able to board the schedules domestic flights straight after arriving in Mahe.

On the return leg, guests will need to overnight on a Saturday to catch the Mahe to Heathrow flight on the Sunday morning.

Emirates and other airlines fly daily but will require 14 day isolation on return to the UK as they go via Dubai.

The Alphonse fishing packages have been split so that they begin and end on a Saturday or Sunday and extra days can be bought on a daily basis.

To be granted the ‘Fly Fishing Package Rate’ (the usual 7 nights/6 days) guests need to book six or more consecutive days fly fishing on St Francois.

If guests book fewer than six days on St Francois then they will be counted as a leisure guest and rates will be per day.

Guests who have already booked and paid who need to amend their flights and cannot extend their stay will be exempt from this condition.

Travel Advisory Notes

Visitors must arrive with a negative COVID-19 PCR certificate from an accredited or Government certified laboratory. This must be taken a maximum of 48 hours before departure and must be submitted.

Visitors must ensure that all accommodation bookings are licensed establishments that have been certified by the Public Health Authority. Alphonse and Cosmoledo have been approved accommodations.

Visitors must have valid travel insurance with full medical coverage (inc Covid related care) for the duration of their time in Seychelles.

Health Travel Authorisation is also required and this is done online once you have received your PCR test results. Click here for the link.

As Alphonse is an outer island and there is no possibility of visiting other destinations during your stay, you will not need a 2nd test after your 5th day in Seychelles.

Guests may spend a night in a certified “transit hotel” on the way to or from Alphonse or Cosmoledo. A certified taxi/transfer service needs to be used.

The Seychelles does not require guests to do a PCR test before exiting the country, however, some airlines do.

Guests who need a test for their return trip will need to overnight in Mahe as test results take a minimum of one-night.

If guests would like to extend their trip to an island other than Alphonse or Cosmoledo then another PCR test is required and this can be arranged in Mahe.

Travel between Alphonse and Cosmoledo does not require a PCR test.
