Seychelles Fishing News - 23rd October to 3rd November 2021

Alphonse Island Fishing News - 23rd to 30th October 2021

This week started with some of the best conditions we have had so far this season where the tides provided great giant trevally fishing opportunities, with lots of fish being seen and caught throughout the week.

Starting with the gangsters of the flats (AKA GTs) both Ed and Nikki caught their firsts, with Nikki’s husband Rob catching a good few as well. As always, the bonefish have been plentiful, although the bigger fish were scarce this week.

Chris, Jessica, Emma, Isabella, Alex, Olivia, Danny, and Blakely all joined the bonefish club this week by catching their first bone on fly and Ben was hailed the angler of the week with a GT of 110 cm, Indo-Pacific permit of 39 cm and a few days of 20+ bonefish. What an achievement!

In the deep blue on the blue water boat Chris, Jessica, Olivia, Florence and Emma all caught their first sailfish, while Isabella, Florence, Chris, Olivia, Jessica and Gabba caught their first wahoo and Emma her first barracuda. Florence and Gabba were fortunate enough to catch their fish on fly.

Well done to all the anglers for an amazing weeks of fishing and some memorable catches. With the last few puffs of southeast winds coming through and some steaming-hot days, it looks like the next few weeks are going to be spectacular.

Farquhar Fishing News - 27th October to 3rd November 2021

Week two on Farquhar saw the wind dropping considerably! Meaning we were able to venture out to enjoy the Atoll to its fullest. The majority of the guests were GT focused, this was evident in the final tally for the week reaching a very impressive 75 GTs. However, there were some other incredible catches throughout the week.

A long-standing friend and guest Stanislav along with a newcomer to the flats Stanislav had a great week wrapping up several GTs and bonefish along the way, sadly Stanislov lost three bumphead parrotfish on the last day. On his debut fly fishing the flats, Stanislov landed his first-ever GT and bonefish.

Aaron and Ladd had an outstanding week managing to land a bumphead parrotfish on the first day. With that box ticked they focus on wrapping up the GT numbers and ended their week on a high with an impressive 15 GTs boated on the last day with Ladd also managing a 63 cm bonefish to go with it.

Laurent and Tim consistently added to the GT tally with some great catches. Laurent managed to land himself a fish of a lifetime, a 119 cm GT. The way that fish ate the fly will forever be tattooed in the minds of everyone on the skiff. Tim had a solid week with a good number of GTs as well as landing the forever welcomed Napoleon wrasse. He sadly lost his bumpy as it bit clean through the hook close to the net.

Mike and Joe shot the lights out this week with the most GTs in the week. Joe managed to land an impressive 111 cm GT together with a great Napoleon wrasse.

James and William were very focused on GTs and their dedication paid off with James managing to land a great 105 cm and the biggest of the season to date a monstrous 120 cm GT.
