South Fork Lodge has long held a spot in the upper echelon of western fly-fishing lodges. Situated on a 25-acre property and enjoying a half mile of river frontage, the lodge offers unrivaled access to the South Fork. This allows guests of South Fork Lodge to be on the water while most others are still driving to the put in. When floating the upper section, you will take out within sight of your room. Experienced guides, stylish accommodations, and delicious dining are all part of the program. A world-class fly-shop and a stellar bar round out the experience.

Fishing

The South Fork of the Snake is a world-class tailwater fishery that is perhaps best known for the quality and consistency of its dry fly fishing. South fork Lodge enjoys the finest access to 65 miles of Cutthroat, Rainbow, and Brown trout fishing, including exclusive "Canyon" access.

Accommodation

Recently renovated with an eye towards luxury and a unique sense of style, each lodge suite offers 1 King bed, en suite bathroom, and a private terrace. Cabin rooms offer the option of 1 King or 2 Queens, and family suites offer connecting doors to create intact space for families or large groups.

Gear

The equipment will vary with the style and tactics of the fishing. We like a fast 9' 5wt for dries and a 9' 6wt for nymph rigs. The 9'6" 5 wt can pull double duty here. For streamer fishing on the South Fork, a fast 6wt or 7wt with intermediate and full sink lines will cover you.

Trip Specifics

Guests of the South Fork Lodge will fly to Idaho Falls (45 min) or Jackson (90 min) airports. It is recommended that you secure a rental vehicle for your time at the lodge as this will allow flexibility to travel into Jackson, Grand Teton N.P., or even Yellowstone N.P. if desired. The lodge can assist with private airport transfers for an additional fee if requested.
