Frontiers' Loren Booker was thrilled to visit the opening day of the 2020 British Shooting Show, dubbed the UK’s premier trade and retail shooting show, at the NEC in Birmingham. It was great to see so many shooting supporters interested and engaged in the show.
The booth variety was very encouraging and set the tone for future shows. Loren noted that the show had the feel of a European shooting show with a huge emphasis on the technical aspect of shooting, and stands dedicated to shotguns, rifles, air rifles, optics (including specialized night vision and thermal imaging devices) bushcraft, wildfowling, and gundog equipment. In addition to a busy arena schedule, there was an abundance of shooting accessories, countryside organizations, ranges and shooting schools.
Not all booths were technical, though. The show also highlighted the important work of the British Game Alliance, Gamekeepers Welfare Trust, and the BASC, with clothing and technical field clothing also well represented.
The show was a great day off for all like-minded UK shooters, and it will continue to grow in the future.
