The Jungle Experience

Most of us have experienced the delights of our freshwater brown and rainbow trout and even the Atlantic salmon, but have you considered the tropical freshwater species? With jungle fishing becoming more and more accessible and popular we have put together some of our favourite, up and coming destinations to visit!

Brazil Top Picks
If the dream of a fly-in trophy peacock bass fishing lodge on remote and private rivers in Brazil's Amazon is your idea of adventure, we have plenty to offer. Choose an exclusive fly fishing-only lodge or prepare to throw big woodchoppers on spinning or bait casting gear. We have both options and all destinations are of the highest standard and fully vetted.

Kendjam Lodge is a unique, pristine fishery offering over 8 species to target ranging from dry fly fishing for Pacu, popping for wolf fish or stripping a streamer for bicuda. Most fishing is done via wet wading. While they use local boats for transport, the granite plateau through which the river runs allows the anglers to wade safely and comfortably all while you are fully emerged in the Amazonian wilderness.

The Rio Marié fishery is located entirely within an extensive Indigenous Territory, an area of nearly five million acres! This pristine area covers roughly 500 miles of river, tributaries, and off channel lagoons. The season operates from August-February in western Brazil’s dry season. This system has the highest density of true giants in the Amazon. The live-aboard ship is a one-of-a-kind beauty. You’ll enjoy AC state rooms and chef prepared meals.

Agua Boa Amazon Lodge - internationally travelled fly fishermen are astounded and charmed by the rainforest canopy, riverfront jungle lodge, and ultimate clear water fly fishing experience when sight-fishing for Brazil’s fiercest fighting fish—the peacock bass. The Agua Boa is the sole fly-fishing-only river in Brazil designated as a single barbless hook fishery to preserve its resource for generations. In this shallow river featuring white sand bars and flats, marauding bass decimate presented flies. In the canopy, you may witness monkeys, macaws, jaguars, capybara, parrots, tortoises and other rain forest sights daily.

Colombia Top Picks
Colombia is fast becoming one of the most popular destinations in the world to travel to. The country itself is investing in tourism and has some beautiful places to visit. In terms of fishing, if you want to catch one of the famous vampire fish then this is the place to go!

Temensis Lodge is a very comfortable private camp in the remote Colombian jungle. The season begins in early December when it is primarily focused on big payara. Soon, the three species of peacock bass will be accessible as well as sardinata and bicuda. We can only take bookings for the camp as a whole but to take the camp and have it privately or with friends makes for a truly wonderful week.
