A magnificent wilderness lodge, surrounded by the bounty of Alaska’s Inside Passage, Whale Pass Lodge is located in the scenic solitude of Prince of Wales Island. Offering guided multi-sport adventure activities and state-of-the-art equipment, guests can enjoy world-class fishing, virgin mountain biking trails, peaceful sea kayaking, and unparalleled wildlife experiences. The lodge’s unique “Adventure Menu” allows each guest to design their own customized itinerary, accompanied by guides who are naturalist, adventure-sports enthusiasts and southeast Alaska experts.

Fishing

The objective is to allow the utmost in flexibility. There is no set itinerary and each day is yours to create; whether fishing for salmon, halibut or other bottom fish in the saltwater or trout or salmon in the pristine creeks of the Tongass National Forest; it’s your trip to create as you wish.

Accommodation

The lodge is spacious. The great room is a quiet space for reading, conversing and enjoying the view. The recreation room is a detached building to not disturb guests in the main lodge. Suites offered for couples and families with children. Rooms have private bathrooms and most are designed for 2.

Gear

The lodge will provide all fishing and adventuring gear for the duration of your trip. If you wish to bring your own fishing gear, Frontiers will provide a comprehensive gear list upon booking.

Trip Specifics

Guests fly to Ketchikan, AK or Seattle and overnight at a recommended hotel. Depending on your departure city, most guests find it easiest to fly to Ketchikan on day one, overnight, and then meet the early afternoon charter flight to the lodge. Contact Frontiers for flight schedules and hotel info. Trips start and end with a half day activity on your arrival / departure dates with full day activities in between. This is predominantly saltwater fishing in large comfortable boats and inland river fishing for trout / salmon is available. Perfect for couples, families or corporate groups.

Rates

1 night/2 day trips to 7 night/8 day trips. $5,790 to $12,090. Rate includes roundtrip air charter service to/from Ketchikan. Commercial airfare to/from Ketchikan, hotel overnights, optional air-charter excursions from lodge, spa and gift shop expenses, gratuities, and fishing license are excluded.
