Come fish North America’s most productive estuary, the deep Mississippi Delta of South Louisiana. Located about an hour South of New Orleans International Airport, Woodland Plantation is rich in history, culture, outdoor adventures, and is the epitome of Southern Comfort.
South Louisiana’s rich marsh land holds Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Flounder, Crappie, and Bass year-round. You can also deep-sea fish on the mouth of the Mississippi, where you can catch Red Snapper, Black Grouper, Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjack, Cobia, Wahoo, and Marlin.
Located along the bank of the Mississippi River, Woodland Plantation has over twenty bedrooms and can accommodate up to 45 guests at one time. The lodge runs 5 to 6 skiffs with 10 to 12 fly anglers at a time and the conventional guides can handle more fishermen than the Plantation can accommodate.
We will provide a complete gear list upon booking. Anglers will want an 8-weight setup for spring and summer and a 9-10 weight setup for the winter. Flies and terminal tackle are provided at no charge. If needed, borrowed fly and spin gear can be arranged with your guide in advance.
Woodland Plantation can accommodate trips as short as 2 Night/2 Full Fishing Days to 4Nights/3 Full Fishing Days or you can fully customize your trip to fit your needs.
Inclusions: Accommodations, all meals, non-alcoholic beverages, professionally guided fishing, all flies, terminal tackle, and loaner equipment.
Exclusions: Airfare, ground transportation (rental car or private driver), alcohol, gratuities for guides and lodge staff, & fishing license. There are many non-angling activities available as well, so bring along the history buff or nature fanatic in your life!
